Just wrapped up a summer book club with ladies from my church, and one of my favorite quotes was this: “We are meant to be emotionally close to the people we are physically close to.” I’ve been chewing on that as I work with people suffering from relational wounds and abuse, analyzing attachment styles, and just generally wanting to give others hope for healing beyond their (and my own) brokenness. Don’t we all long to be emotionally close in healthy relationships? What can *I* do to keep moving forward as a healthy person so that I can be emotionally close to the people God has me living with and near?
